Your Journal Should Feel Like Home

My journal has never lived on a desk.

It travels beside my coffee.

It sits beside my Bible.

It rests in baskets.

It waits beside my favorite chair.

Sometimes I write one sentence.

Sometimes I tuck in an old receipt.

Sometimes I simply carry it from room to room without opening it.

It isn’t another project to finish.

It’s simply part of my home.

Instead of throwing away my old journals, I keep them. There are memories stored in them that will someday mean something to someone else. There are dried flowers in them from what my grandchildren picked for me. Little notes from loved ones. My older journals live tied together with lace proudly waiting for the day to be opened once again.

My mornings start with the Holy Bible. A deep study daily. Journaling helps me remember God’s word and what I learned that day. It’s funny how I learn something new every time I read a passage I’ve read before…

Our journals age with us. Faded, wrinkled in time, but wiser in years.

Stop and look at the beauty in ordinary things. Slow down and enjoy your documented life one day at a time.

My little basket of everyday supplies.

Not expensive.

Not fancy.

Just familiar.

My journal has become a gathering place for the things I love most. A little hand stitching, worn paper, dried flowers, and quiet afternoons all find their way onto its pages. Perhaps that’s why it feels less like a craft… and more like home. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿงต
